A slice of calm and luxury in Lancashire, our afternoon tea honours one of the very best British traditions. From the outstanding beauty of our setting, to the quality of our tea, coffee, sandwiches and sweet treats, we’re confident that we offer an afternoon tea experience that is the best around Preston, the Ribble Valley and Lancashire.

Our take on England’s most beloved pastime is a stylish and sociable affair, perfect for celebrating birthdays and engagements. It doesn’t have to be just the preserve of special occasions however - whatever the affair, enjoy a memorable afternoon tea experience at The Inn.

Enjoy three tiers of home-baked TOTI treats which includes our best selection of savouries, scones & an assortment of TOTI desserts. Our afternoon tea is for a minimum of two people, available to be enjoyed at The Inn or to takeaway and have in the comfort of your own home.

Enjoy three tiers of home-baked TOTI treats, which includes our best selection of savouries, scones & an assortment of desserts with your choice of loose leaf tea or coffee from Atkinson’s of Lancaster.

Online Bookings

Please Note

  • We only serve Afternoon Tea from Thursday to Sunday, 12-3pm.

  • Importantly, bookings must be a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

  • We will not be serving Afternoon Tea on Christmas Eve.

Afternoon Tea Buffet

For those wishing to enjoy our Afternoon Tea as part of a larger party, why not try our Afternoon Tea Buffet? Enjoy the privacy of our beautiful River House, and have an exclusive Afternoon Tea experience for up to 30 guests (minimum of 12). Ideal for baby showers, birthdays, hen parties, as well as business events.

Afternoon Tea Vouchers

Why not give the gift of a Cartford Afternoon Tea to a loved one with our Afternoon Tea Voucher? Afternoon tea vouchers are for 2 people only. A 48 hour pre-order is also required when using a voucher.

  • We are situated on the banks of the River Wyre on Lancashire's Fylde Coast, easily accessible from Preston, Blackpool and the Ribble Valley.

  • Yes! We can cater for most dietary requirements. When making your booking, please inform a member of staff of your dietary requirements and our chefs will do their best to cater to your needs.

  • We ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice so that we can prepare your afternoon tea extravaganza!

  • To book, please use our online reservation system where pre-payment will be taken.
