Sunday Lunch, a tradition like no other. Rooted in history and deeply embedded in British culture, this weekly ritual goes beyond just satisfying hunger; it is a time for connection, relaxation, and indulgence. Here at the Cartford, Sundays are sacred, and we offer a Sunday roast that (we think) is the best in Preston and Lancashire.

Choices, Choices, Choices…

Sourced locally from Honeywell’s Farm Shop, we usually offer a choice of two meats each Sunday. Whilst roast beef is a certainty each week, the second is on rotation, switching between roast ham and crispy roast pork (complete with crackling…). Our Sunday Lunch wouldn't be complete without the classics – crispy roast potatoes, fluffy Yorkshire pudding, and a medley of seasonal vegetables. Top it off with our red wine jus (posh gravy), for the finishing touch. The best Sunday Lunch in Preston, surely.

Cap off your meal with something sweet. Sundays at the Inn often feature a classic dessert of the day - whether it’s sticky toffee pudding, bread and butter pudding or a crumble packed with the seasons best fruit, there’s bound to be something to tempt you… And if none of that will do, choose something delectable from our seasonal dessert menu!

Vegetarian, Vegan and Children’s Options

Certainly not to be forgotten – we also offer a vegan/ vegetarian roast dinner for our plant-based friends. Here, our homemade nut roast takes centre stage, accompanied by our unique beetroot gravy. We also have a separate vegetarian/ vegan à la carte menu with a selection of wonderful plant based dishes!

Sunday lunch is, of course, a family affair. And so for little ones, our children’s roast dinner is the ideal choice, perfect for little appetites! So rally the troops and join us this Sunday for a wholesome family affair.

  • We serve all day from 12-6pm!

  • Whilst we do permit walk ins, we would advise booking. Sundays can get particularly busy so we wouldn't want you to waste a trip! Book online or call our office.

  • We don’t! On a Sunday we serve our a la carte menu alongside our specials list (Sunday roast options are included in our specials).
